.00 – Depart from the hotel by private car to Samutsongkram Province which is located southwest of Bangkok. During our approximately one hour drive, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery and some interesting areas along the roadside; for example, areas for salt production, as well as shops and stalls selling dried seafood products and salt.
.00 – Begin our walking tour through an amazing local market located on a train track, known among the foreigners as the “train track market”. We learn how people make a living by selling various kinds of fruits, seafood, sweets, and vegetables, as well as local products, on the train track.
There will also be an opportunity to observe how the local vendors move their products off the train track when the train comes.
.30 – Continue by private car from the market to the Ampawa district. Upon our arrival, we take a walking tour around the Ampawa Floating Market. The market is lively, colorful and very popular among the local population. Most significantly, it has retained its original, unique and typical characteristics, unspoiled by outside marketing influences. You will enjoy your opportunity to observe the fascinating activities, and to sample all kinds of food that the vendors sell; seafood, fruits, drinks, refreshments, as well as souvenirs. Time will also be available to sit down and enjoy the variety of things going on along the canal, just like the locals do! it is your to enjoy the floating market in Thailand.
.30 – We continue our adventure at the Ampawa Floating Market by boarding a small traditional vessel at the market pier, and riding along the Meklong River to explore the local lifestyle. During our 45-minute journey, we enjoy the breeze along the river as we allow the authentic feelings of the local way of life to surround us. We cruise into the canals of the market area and shop around from boat to boat. After the boat ride is over, we walk around the market and continue our explorations among the vendors on land. Time will also be made available to visit the fruit plantation behind the market area.
.15 – Arrive back at the market pier with some free time on your own to shop or dine.
.00 – Drive back to Bangkok after your trip to Ampawa Floating Market is over.
